Book Description
Experiencing years of infertility and heartbreaking loss, Erica walked a path of ashes, mourning, and heaviness. Yet as she studied the Bible, God slowly began illuminating her path forward. With a heart to reach those who suffer silently, Erica weaves her unique personal journey into a Bible study of women who faced similar challenges. With a faith-filled perspective, this book will encourage women experiencing detours and obstacles to walking toward beauty, joy, and praise. To give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. --Isaiah 61:3b

Book Description
Named Finalist as Best Fantasy Fiction, Best Multicultural Fiction and Best Cover Design by Next Generation Indie Book Awards 2009, authored by a young writer at the age of 14-19, the novel is the first installment of an epic series. Although the story is set initially in a world that is familiar to the fantasy genre with the elements of Celtic mythology and Arthurian legends, it thoughtfully lays down a vast universe that encompasses Heaven and Earth for the first installment and its sequels, and brings forth a massive, multi-ethnic cast which includes many endearing characters who carry rich cultural backgrounds that will generate strong echoes from readers of different ages and ethnicity. The story perhaps is the first to depict the convergence of the western and eastern civilizations in a fantasy setting in the dimensions of culture, philosophy, mythology and theology. The story is deeply provocative in politics and humanity through the shadows of factual events in human history; nonetheless, it is a good read with complex plot lines, suspenseful outcomes, well-developed characters with diverse backgrounds and epic events with cinematic visualization.

Germany's Chosen Path
Author: Courtney W. Paul
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Germany
Languages : en
Pages : 268
Book Description
In post-Cold War Germany, the future of German security policy revolves largely around its attitude to deployment of its forces abroad. The relevant question is will Germany return to 'normality, ' using its military as a tool in an interventionist manner, as France, the UK, and US do? Or, will Germany continue its path of reticence - unwilling to see a place for military force in foreign policy? These two possibilities are supported by divergent international relations theory paradigms. Neo-realism supports the 'return to normality' camp, while Liberalism supports continued 'culture of reticence' view. This study analyses the effects of wide variety of domestic security institutions. Institutions, by definition, limit the choices available in the exercise of security policy. Through study of the effects of these institutions, we can clearly see which paradigm German security policy has taken. The thesis concludes Germany's actions since Reunification follow the liberal and not the neo-realist paradigm. For the near future, Germany will continue to avoid the use of the military as an instrument of foreign policy. Germany will only use force as necessary to maintain good relations with other democracies as required under concepts such as 'burden-sharing.'

Chosen
Author: Michelle McClain-Walters
Publisher: Charisma Media
ISBN: 1629996548
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 212
Book Description
MANY ARE CALLED, BUT YOU ARE CHOSEN. This book will equip you with prophetic insight and divine strategies that will jump-start you on the path toward destiny. There is a distinction between the called and the chosen, the many and the few. Who are these people? How did they get exclusive access to the favor of God? They are confident and prosperous, generous and joyful. They live in the realm of miracles and the supernatural, as if the very breath of God is on every decision they make in life. One season after the next they are catapulted to new levels in life. All they do is win and trample over challenges, disappointments, and attacks from the enemy, while others still remain at the starting line, awaiting breakthrough. In her book Michelle McClain-Walters shows readers just what this distinction is and how they can live in the fullness of their identity as God’s chosen ones. Built on the words of Christ in John 15:16—“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you”—and Matthew 22:14—“Many are called but few are chosen”—Chosen is a revelation of the spiritual force behind the life of the next-level believer. Choose now and declare, “I am chosen!” and watch as the mysteries of heaven are opened to you. Pages : 295
Book Description
This is my story of my memories, thoughts, and interpretations that I made from my experiences starting at the beginning of my age of awareness. I grew up on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota where I faced living in two different cultures to the time I joined the U.S. Army. My story is not about the accumulation of wealth or being famous or being some savior. It is about a simple dream. My story starts from the time I remember reaching the age of awareness to the present. I do not claim to be a writer, so my story may not be a well-planned or polished literary work that meets all the high standards of writing. The story is about being on a path out of poverty. I was raised by my grandparents from a baby to the time I joined the U.S. Army. For some reason my mother left me to be raised by her parents. They were poor people, seasonal laborers, who lived with a strong belief in their God. We lived in a two-room shack with tarpaper siding that had not inside toilet, running water or electricity. That was our home. They were always short of money to buy necessities and usually faced hunger. However they were a good couple and had a faith to believe in God. However I was fortunate to get a good education and had the opportunity to join the army for a career. I experienced new horizons that exposed me to new learning’s that tempered my attitude. I wish to share my experiences and thoughts from traveling along a path chosen with especially the Lakota youth and the non-Lakota youth what have written in this book. Pilamaya—Thank you
