A Journey Called Grief
Author: Sarah Schieber
Publisher: Bookbaby
ISBN: 9781667805993
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 162
Book Description
My husband died. Suddenly and tragically. I was 33. I had three young children and had just released my first solo album. I was in shock and grief for months after...I barely hung on. One of the last things my husband Chad did on the day that he died was write in his journal. The next morning, as I waited to tell my children that their daddy was dead, I wrote the next entry. I kept writing. I poured out my heart and soul to God, crying out to Him as I walked, no slogged, through the months and years of suffering. I sobbed, wrestled, screamed and questioned everything I knew to be true about God. And, He wrapped me in peace and loved me through the very worst days of my life. During that sad time I needed - and indeed searched for - a guide to how it would FEEL to walk this walk, to take this journey. And, although there were plenty of books about other people's lives through tragedy, there was not a month by month description that depicted the very real struggles of a young widow. NOW THERE IS! I have told my story and put together many of the journal entries into which I poured my heart in those awful months after my beloved's death. I very honestly wrestle with God, who very lovingly held me in His arms through it all. This book takes you by the hand, encouraging you and scripturally supporting you as you deal with your new normal.

Stories from the Heart
Author: Lillian Adrian
Publisher: WestBow Press
ISBN: 1664243526
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 132
Book Description
Having searched these long and lonely years, for “a new kind of normal”, I realized that with recognition of life gone there was realization of new beginnings, without guilt, through the process of creating new, sweet, precious memories. Realizing there is HOPE, JOY and PEACE, knowing without a doubt that my heavenly Father loves me more than life itself. That is where I gained my trust. Normal is different for everyone. For me, there was nothing normal about losing my spouse so suddenly at a young age, but then, what’s normal about a kind, gentle man being crucified, spit upon, beaten until blood ran down his face, hands and sides, cursed, and then left to hang on an old rugged cross while his mother sat and watched, weeping for the loss of her son. It was HOPE, JOY and PEACE knowing her heavenly Fathers hands were holding her. Even though she KNEW it was not a normal kind of death, in the eyes of God, it was right. He ordained it as His will. HIS perfect plan was in place. Now, mine has not been three days, but then again, I am certain that Jesus felt as though it was years as he went through the torture he experienced, uttering those last words, “It is FINISHED.” But GOD had another plan. Completeness came, as He said it would, with His son’s resurrection. It is only by TRUST and FAITH in Him, that you can walk the depths of this darkness.

Glimmers of Hope
Author: Tapiwa N. Mucherera
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1620324679
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 249
Book Description
Every individual has a story--painful or happy--and the story will only be complete and meaningful when shared with others willing to listen to it. These are the stories of several people who embarked on a journey toward healing from abortion, adoption, abuse (sexual and spousal), anger, bullying, cutting, infertility, divorce, grief, people pleasing, and fear, as well as people struggling to break the chains of psychological colonialism/neocolonialism and to survive as orphans. This book contains a wealth of knowledge on how transformation of life can take place using Narrative Counseling. Most of the stories shared in this book are personal to many of the authors. Some share their journey of struggling with hopeless situations to where they regained hope through counseling using the Narrative approach. Others, such as the orphaned children, found relief in just having someone sit with them to listen to their daily struggles of living an orphaned life. In this book you will find a place where these stories will somehow intersect with your own story. Take a chance, read, and you will find a glimmer of hope in these stories.

A Journey Called Hope
Author: Rick Rouse
Publisher: Chalice Press
ISBN: 0827201273
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 193
Book Description
Author Rick Rouse weaves a tapestry of immigrant experiences—successes, hopes, challenges, and dreams that have often unfolded amidst global conflicts and political polarization. These narratives inspire compassion as “these least of these” search for a safe haven and discover how diversity enriches America and our faith. While the American story aspires to be the story of welcome and refuge for all, our history often tells a different story. As wars are raging in Ukraine and the Middle East, creating millions of refugees merely seeking safety, American politics remains so polarized that the government appears deadlocked or unable to act on meaningful solutions to immigration policies. In A Journey Called Hope, author Rick Rouse shares the stories of immigrants from around the world to America — their successes, hopes, challenges, and dreams. He explores how we can share our planet with the understanding that it is a matter of human dignity for all people to have a safe place to call home. In sharing these inspiring stories and hope-filled futures, Rouse assures us the United States is still a nation of promise made richer by its diversity.
