Excerpt from The Chicago Medical Recorder, Vol. 1 But, as at present informed, Rauber's ingenious hypothesis has never been definitely corroborated, and it is not positively asserted that in this case the excessive demand by the lacteal secretion upon the white corpuscles was the cause Of the splenic tumor. The probable time of the commencement of the leukaemia in this case coincides with the latter days of the sixth pregnancy. This is the period when the blood-glandular organs are most severely taxed by pregnancy itself. Add to this the additional Strain of suckling a vigorous babe, and it seems that there is presented a cause adequate to the phenomenon. I S1-:0. The Treasurer shall be elected annually by the Council to serve one year, and shall serve until his successor is elected and qualified. (Unanimously adopted.) SEC.-i. The Chairmen of the several branches shall be the vice presidents. (Unanimously adopted.) ' SEC. 5. The Trustees shall be elected by the Council. One I shall be elected to serve one year, one to serve two years, and one to serve three years. Thereafter, one shall be elected annually to serve three years. In case a vacancy in the Board of TI'l1St0c-s occurs from any cause, the Council shall elect a new Trustee to serve the unexpired term. (Unanimously adopted.) SECTION 6.
