Book Description
Retinal Detachment: Principles and Practice provides a historical review of current information on the diagnosis and treatment of retinal detachment. It is intended as both an introduction for graduate students in ophthalmology and a concise review or reference for practicing ophthalmologists. The volume defines the types of retinal detachments, their classifications and causes, and covers preoperative examination, preoperative management, prophylactic procedures, surgery, complications of surgery, and results of reattachment surgery. It also includes a historical introduction, suggested readings at the end of each chapter, and the classic article 'The Technique of Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy,' by Morten L. Rosenthal.

Book Description
A comprehensive understanding of diseases of the peripheral retina is essential to the general ophthalmologist as well as to the vitreoretinal surgeon. Expertise in in direct ophthalmoscopy, scleral depression, and contact lens biomicroscopy serves as a basis for observing the peripheral retina. These observations are then re corded on fundus drawing paper and the Tolentino vitreo-retinal chart. This or derly sequence of skills allows the ophthalmic surgeon to objectively diagnose and evaluate specific peripheral retinal disorders and plan for their therapeutic management. The Clinical Atlas of Peripheral Retinal Disorders is a compilation of fundus paint ings by David A. Tilden based on our observations of a large number of patients over the past 15 years. The atlas is organized along functional and anatomical lines. After a brief introduction to the clinical anatomy of the peripheral retina, the appearance of the fundus as a function of skin color and aging is presented. Many of the diseases of the peripheral retina can be divided into trophic (nutritional), tractional, and a combination of trophic plus tractional etiologies. This classifica tion system, although somewhat simplistic, appears adequate for our present level of understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms of these disorders. Un doubtedly, once the molecular biology of these conditions is elucidated through future research, the classification will be revised. In addition, there are other con ditions that affect the peripheral retina that do not fit the proposed classification system and are covered under separate headings, i. e.

Book Description
The thoroughly updated Third Edition of this practical guide reflects the growing popularity of new alternative methods for treating primary retinal detachment. This edition features a new chapter on pneumatic retinopexy and state-of-the-art information on balloon buckling and vitrectomy. The authors discuss the latest laser treatment delivery systems and vitreoretinal surgical techniques, including the usefulness of perfluorocarbon liquids and silicone oil. Coverage also includes current concepts on risk factors for retinal tears and detachment and updates on prophylactic strategies. Nearly 200 photographs and drawings, including 56 full-color clinical photographs, complement the text. An Appendix contains case histories that represent the spectrum of retinal detachment presentations and reinforce the authors' clinical management guidelines.

Book Description
Pathologic Myopia is a major cause of severe vision loss worldwide. The mechanisms for vision loss include cataract, glaucoma, retinal detachment, and above all, myopic maculopathy within the posterior staphyloma. The first edition of Pathologic Myopia is one of the only current books to specifically address this disease and discusses recent developments in imaging technologies and various approaches to treatments, such as laser photocoagulation, photodynamic therapy, pharmaco-therapeutic injections in the vitreous, and surgery. This new edition is a timely update to the standard reference in the field, with new chapters on advanced refractive error correction, genetics, developing a classification system, and special surgical approaches for pathologic myopia. Complete with even more high-quality color images and informative tables, this book is written and edited by leaders in the field and is geared towards ophthalmologists, including residents and fellows in training, glaucoma and cataract specialists, and vitreoretinal macula experts.

Book Description
This atlas and textbook aims to provide diverse pictures, facilitating the readers to learn fundus diseases. Retinal detachment is a common group of vitreo-retinal diseases that causes blindness. The diagnosis and differential diagnosis are dependent mostly on ophthalmolscopy and fundus imaging technology. With the development of imaging technology, it is getting easier for ophthalmologist to make quick and accurate decision on the diagnosis. The book includes both common types of retinal detachment and some rare diseases. Moreover, some diseases without but related to retinal detachment are included in the book. In addition to traditional color fundus photos, fundus fluorescent angiography, ultrasound and traditional OCT images, OCT angiography and ultrasound angiography images are included too. This book also contains brief introductions to each disease. Differentiated from detailed review of pathogenesis or treatment, the readers will discover concise yet direct concept. This atlas and textbook is yours to read and enjoy, but also to use as a valuable tool in your management of the patient with retinal detachment. Keep it handy. Book Description
From the foreword: "Microsurgery of Retinal Detachment is an important contribution to the practice of vitreoretinal surgery. In this comprehensive volume, Dr. Bonnet shares her extensive experience in the management of conditions ranging from retinal tears and primary retinal detachment to giant retinal breaks and vitreoretinal surgery. The field of microsurgery has continued to evolve over the last twenty years, both for the anterior segment surgeon and, since 1970, for the vitreoretinal surgeon. Although there have been extensive descriptions of vitrectomy techniques, little has been written about microsurgical techniques for scleral buckling operations. This subject is well covered in the present edition, which consequently will be a valuable resource to the majority of retinal surgeons who do not as a rule employ microsurgery in the repair of retinal detachments."
