Book Description
Broken chronicles the tragedies of several strangers who are trying to find happiness in the city of Los Angeles. As their paths cross with one another, each of them becomes an integral thread in the fabric that unifies them and helps them heal. Skye is a teenage homeless musician battling a drug addiction who dreams of unattainable rock stardom. She's befriended by Amber, a young mother on the run from two dangerous men from her past. The two girls form a mutually indispensable bond, one that could ultimately save them. Dylan is a pseudo-intellectual-Chuck Palahniuk wanna-be, and a total cynic. He lives with TJ, an out of work actor, who fails auditions by day, and wears a hamburger suit outside a burger joint at the mall by night. TJ and Dylan are artistic failures in need of a muse to kick start their careers. Broken follows several other interesting individuals (all based on real people), each with their own humorous twisted narrative as they try to put the pieces of their lives back together.

Book Description
Christie Monroe is caught between two choices and only way out is a ride straight through hell… “Promise me, Zed…” Those were the last words Christie Monroe said to Zed Barlow when she left him six years ago to pursue her dream of becoming a federal agent. Six years later, Christie Monroe is an ATF agent following a trail of guns through northern Nevada when she is stopped by the notorious Ryswell Brothers MC. Christie has investigated enough cases to know what happens to captured ATF agents in the hands of this club... ... until she sees Zed Barlow once again. In the six years they've been apart, Christie never forgot him. One look and she sees the recognition behind Zed’s eyes, the fire that has nearly smoldered to a ruin, and the spark that could re-ignite everything once again. But the shy boy she knew is gone, and in his place stands the hardened president of the Ryswell Brothers. Suddenly, a kiss shared under the starry skies and a promise made six years ago surface returns to haunt her and Christie must find out where her allegiance truly lies: with her heart or with her duty.

Book Description
Broken Theory is a jettisoned collection of fragmentary writing, collected and collaged by new media artist, writer, musician, and theorist Alan Sondheim. Folding theoretical musings, text experiments, and personal confessions into a single textual flow, it examines the somatic foundations of philosophical theory and theorizing, discussing their relationships to the writer and body, and to the phenomenology of failure and fragility of philosophy's production. Writing remains writing, undercuts and corrects itself, is always superseded, always produced within an untoward and bespoke silo - not as an inconceivable last word, but instead a broken contribution to philosophical thinking. The book is based on fragmentation and collapse, displacing annihilation and wandering towards a form of "roiling" within which the text teeters on the verge of disintegration. In other words, the writing develops momentary scaffoldings - writing shored up by the very mechanisms that threaten its disappearance. Broken Theory is prefaced by a text from Maria Damon and followed by an extensive interview with art historian Ryan Whyte. Alan Sondheim is a new media artist, theorist, and writer concerned with the phenomenology of the virtual. He has collaborated with motion capture and virtual environment labs. His work is concerned with the inhabitation of the body in the virtual; with the textuality of the body; with the problematic of mixed reality and codework. His writing is known for its "somatic grit" and skeletal codes that partially appear within and determine the surface. This style embeds interferences among syntax, semantics, and formal systems. The textual body, body of text and writer, are deeply entangled. His current work is based on the psychogeography of real and virtual worlds and their modeling. Most recently he has focused on "semantic ghosting" - the body behind the virtual/symbolic body - and modes of viral dispersion in a series of videos and texts. Sondheim was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, attended Brown University, and has exhibited, taught, and lectured at a number of venues in the United States and abroad.
