Book Description
Tim Berkley, Fredrick Jonathan and Sophia McKenzie were good friends in the high school of Norwich. Their school was a completely different one. It announced a holiday when other schools had a working day and vice versa. Fred was the topper of the class and grasps everything very easily. He was also regarded as the 'Rapid Learner'. Sophia was quite good in studying but not as much as Fred was. Tim was not good in studies but he was good at solving problems and he usually thought in a different way. He was called as the 'Class Detective'. They were called as the three musketeers in the class. They also wrote many stories; while Tim gives the idea, Fred writes it in a good way. Therefore, Tim was the legislature; Fred was the executive; and Sophia was the judiciary (i.e.) the editor. They also had a dog named Zack, who was very brave and helped them to make their work easier. They were constantly waiting for taking part in adventures, but still, they didn't get a chance. They like getting into trouble. They went to a hiking trip on their holidays. Tim discovers a ring which had a code, some sort of letter. The code was both the clue for a map of treasure and the clue of a wicked crime in the city. Read more and find what happens next!

Book Description
First published in 1976, Bricks tells the story of bricks in Britain. The story of the brick begins with the sun-dried, mud bricks formed with hands alone. Walls built with such bricks have been found in the ruins of Jericho – probably the oldest town in the world. John Woodforde describes bricks and brickmaking in the ancient world and in Europe and America; he gives a comprehensive account of brickmaking in Britain up to the 1970s. He describes the properties of bricks, including those of the unique fletton brick, manufactured by the London Brick Company. The author looks, too, at the equipment and techniques used to fashion bricks, the brickmakers themselves and brickwork of many kinds: in garden walls, sewers, canals, railways and roads as well as in Hampton Court and the Nash terraces of Regent’s Park. This book will be of interest to students of architecture, engineering, chemistry and construction.

2016-2017 Young Hoosier Book Award Intermediate Nominee Booker T. Washington had an incredible passion for learning. Born a slave, he taught himself to read. When the Civil War ended, Booker finally fulfilled his dream of attending school. After graduation, he was invited to teach in Tuskegee, Alabama. Finding many eager students but no school, Booker set out to build his own school—brick by brick. An afterword gives detailed information on how the school was built.
