Book Description
The panels of a commercial aircraft are usually a mystery to some pilots who want to enjoy these wonderful works of aeronautical engineering. Understanding the operation of each knob, each button, each indicator and each part of the aircraft panels seems to be an almost impossible mission for those who have not been lucky enough to take the aircraft habilitation course. In this work, we will make it simple and easy. A book dedicated exclusively to the panels of the fabulous Boeing 737 NG. In each chapter you will learn each part of the panels, each function, each indication. After this reading, it will be enough to look at the panels of the cockpit in a B737 and you will understand what you are seeing perfectly. It is not a system manual, but a descriptive and analytical manual of each panel of the aircraft. An ideal complement to the book "Introduction to 737” of this collection, where you learn all the aircraft's systems Here you will learn all the sections of the upper panel (overhead panel), main flight panels (main panels), lower panel (pedestal panel), and much more.

Book Description
Fatigue of the pressurized fuselages of transport aircraft is a significant problem all builders and users of aircraft have to cope with for reasons associated with assuring a sufficient lifetime and safety, and formulating adequate inspection procedures. These aspects are all addressed in various formal protocols for creating and maintaining airworthiness, including damage tolerance considerations. In most transport aircraft, fatigue occurs in lap joints, sometimes leading to circumstances that threaten safety in critical ways. The problem of fatigue of lap joints has been considerably enlarged by the goal of extending aircraft lifetimes. Fatigue of riveted lap joints between aluminium alloy sheets, typical of the pressurized aircraft fuselage, is the major topic of the present book. The richly illustrated and well-structured chapters treat subjects such as: structural design solutions and loading conditions for fuselage skin joints; relevance of laboratory test results for simple lap joint specimens to riveted joints in a real structure; effect of various production and design related variables on the riveted joint fatigue behaviour; analytical and experimental results on load transmission in mechanically fastened lap joints; theoretical and experimental analysis of secondary bending and its implications for riveted joint fatigue performance; nucleation and shape development of fatigue cracks in riveted longitudinal lap joints; overview of experimental investigations into the multi-site damage for full scale fuselage panels and riveted lap joint specimens; fatigue crack growth and fatigue life prediction methodology for riveted lap joints; residual strength predictions for riveted lap joints in a fuselage structure. The major issues of each chapter are recapitulated in the last section.

Book Description
The black box is orange—and there are actually two of them. They house the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder, instruments vital to airplane crash analyses. But accident investigators cannot rely on the black boxes alone. Beginning with the 1931 Fokker F-10A crash that killed legendary football coach Knute Rockne, this fascinating book provides a behind-the-scenes look at plane wreck investigations. Professor George Bibel shows how forensic experts, scientists, and engineers analyze factors like impact, debris, loading, fire patterns, metallurgy, fracture, crash testing, and human tolerances to determine why planes fall from the sky—and how the information gleaned from accident reconstruction is incorporated into aircraft design and operation to keep commercial aviation as safe as possible.

Organized into four chapters, this book begins with an overview of the international market trends, specific materials, or materials groups and appliances. This text then examines the applications and makes market projections on a wide range of specialty materials, including ceramics, biomaterials, electronic materials, and optical materials. Other chapters consider the healthy nature of predictions concerning Japan and parts of Europe, stating that Germany and Japan will lead the advanced structural ceramics market. This book discusses as well the developments concerning various materials. The final chapter presents a list of contact details for the organizations listed in the main text to allow the readers to make new contacts or to follow-up items of particular interest. This book is a valuable resource for private consumers.
