Book Description
My Observations from within the Church of Christ My intent in writing this book is to trace my life experiences as they relate to my spiritual life. Beginning with my childhood, and on up through the present day, I will share stories I believe are meaningful, miraculous, and just plain fun. I've been blessed with so many good friends and family members over the years; it is hard to select just a handful of stories to share, but I think we have gathered enough to hit the high points of my life. One of my closest friends is Bobby Schmittou. He and I have teamed up to share the stories that have meant the most to both of us. Most of my memories are straightforward recollections of my childhood friends, my family, and my business dealings. Others, however, are simply out of this world. Bobby will share a few amazing stories about the September 11 tragedy that showed him where God was on the fateful day. Since inspirational movies have changed the way Bobby sees God and the goodness in people, get ready for his top list of films. My hope is you will find Bobby's stories and these miraculous events captivating and inspirational. Both, however, are important moments that have made up our lives. I will also convey my reflections on one Christian denomination the Church of Christ. Having grown up in a Church of Christ-sponsored orphan home, I have firsthand knowledge of the church and denomination that has stood with me for a long time. I sincerely hope you enjoy this read. Book Description
From the first Tin Pan Alley tunes to today’s million-view streaming hits, pop songs have been supported and influenced by an increasingly complex industry that feeds audience demand for its ever-evolving supply of hits. Harvey Rachlin investigates how music entered American homes and established a cultural institution that would expand throughout the decades to become a multibillion dollar industry, weaving a history of the evolution of pop music in tandem with the music business. Exploding in the 1950s and ’60s with pop stars like Elvis and the Beatles, the music industry used new technologies like television to promote live shows and record releases. More recently, the development of online streaming services has forced the music industry to cultivate new promotion, distribution, copyright, and profit strategies. Pop music and its business have defined our shared cultural history. Song and System: The Making of American Pop Music not only charts the music that we all know and love but also reveals our active participation in its development throughout generations.

Book Description
Hollywood Godfather is Gianni Russo's over-the-top memoir of a real-life mobster-turned-actor who helped make The Godfather a reality, and his story of life on the edge between danger and glamour. Gianni Russo was a handsome 25-year-old mobster with no acting experience when he walked onto the set of The Godfather and entered Hollywood history. He played Carlo Rizzi, the husband of Connie Corleone, who set her brother Sonny—played by James Caan—up for a hit. Russo didn't have to act—he knew the mob inside and out: from his childhood in Little Italy, where Mafia legend Frank Costello took him under his wing, to acting as a messenger for New Orleans mob boss Carlos Marcello during the Kennedy assassination, to having to go on the lam after shooting and killing a member of the Colombian drug cartel in his Vegas club. Along the way, Russo befriended Frank Sinatra, who became his son's godfather, and Marlon Brando, who mentored his career as an actor after trying to get Francis Ford Coppola to fire him from The Godfather. Russo had passionate affairs with Marilyn Monroe, Liza Minelli, and scores of other celebrities. He went on to become a producer and starred in The Godfather: Parts I and II, Seabiscuit, Any Given Sunday and Rush Hour 2, among many other films. Hollywood Godfather is a no-holds-barred account of a life filled with violence, glamour, sex—and fun.
