Book Description
Volume III/27 deals with magnetic properties of non-metallic inorganic compounds based on transition metal elements such as pnictides, chalcogenides, halides, borates, silicates and phosphates. Subvolume 27B covers the magnetic and related properties of lanthanide pnictides and chalcogenides (except oxides). During the last decades considerable progress in the research of these families of substances has been made. The data have been compiled in several parts. Parts B1 (Monopnictides) and B2 (Monochalcogenides) were published in 1998, the present Part B3 covers the binary polypnictides and polychalcogenides. Part B4 will deal with ternary pnictides.

Book Description
The magnetic properties of lanthanide (Ln) pnictides and chalcogenides have been compioled in subvolume 27B. Subvolumes 27B1, 27B2 and 27B3 (already published) deal with Ln monopnictides, monochalcogenides and binary polypnictides and polychalcogenides, respectively. Subvolume 27B4 is devoted to the ternary Ln pnictides. The first part 4a deals with ternary 1:1:1 and 1:1:2 type compounds, while a second part 4b will cover the types 1:2:2, 1:4:12, 3:3:4 and compounds with even more complex formulae.–Ternary Ln pnictides and chalcogenides are intensively studied due to fundamental importance resulting from the f-d interaction and hybridisation, and also due to problems and properties related to heavy fermions, non-Fermi liquid state, spin fluctuations, etc., and also due to the hope of applying these compounds as magnetic, thermoelectric or superconducting materials.

Book Description
Thermodynamic data for inorganic materials are fundamental for the optimisation of existing process parameters and for investigating suitable parameters for carrying out potential new processes. With the aid of such data, time and costs can be saved by calculating the conditions necessary to produce a material of the required composition and specified purity, with a minimum usage of energy and input materials and with a minimum release of harmful substances to the environment. The SGTE evaluated data presented here are tabulated values of standard thermodynamic properties (enthalpy of formation and standard entropy at 298.15K, enthalpies and temperatures of transition, heat content) for each substance, together with plotted heat capacity, Gibbs energy and enthalpy of formation functions up to the maximum temperature for which the data for that substance have been evaluated. The data are presented in 3 subvolumes, A: Pure Substances, B: Binary Systems, C: Ternary and Multi-Component Systems.

Book Description
Vols. III/17a-i and III/22a, b (supplement) on semiconductor physics and technology have been published earlier, the latter covering new data on the technologically important group IV elements and III-V, II-VI and I-VII compounds only. The wealth of further data from the last decade is now being critically evaluated by over 30 well-known experts in the field of semiconductors. To meet the demands of todays scientists and to offer a complete overview on semiconductor data all data available so far are published in the following way: a series of five subvolumes covers only the supplementary data to volumes III/17 and 22. Enclosed to each subvolume, a CD-ROM contains a complete, revised and update edition of all relevant data. For each individual substance the information is presented in userfriendly documents, containing data, figures and references. Easy access to the documents is provided via substance and property keywords, listings and full text retrieval.

Book Description
More than 30 years after the publication of a data collection on dielectric properties in the 6th Edition of Landolt-Börnstein (Volume II/6) the complete volume IV/6 is presented here, providing an up-to-date view for this property. Important data from volume II/6 have been included in the present collection to spare the reader to consult the older tables. The present volume concentrates on static dielectric constants of pure liquids (mainly organics) and for the first time also of binary liquid mixtures at normal pressure. The vast amount of measured data forced the author to restrict the part for the binary mixtures to one single data set for each binary mixture at one temperature (in all cases where more than one data set at different temperatures was given in the publication, the set at or nearest to 293 K was chosen). This selection is in accordance to the fact that in most cases users are interested in deviations from a "linear mixing behaviour" only, which does not very much depend on temperature.

Book Description
Surface Science is understood as a relatively young scientific discipline, concerned with the physical and chemical properties of a phenomena on clean and covered solid surfaces, studied under a variety of conditions. The adsorption of atoms and molecules on solid surfaces is, for example, such a condition, connected with more or less drastic changes of all surface properties. An adsorption event is frequently observed in nature and found to be of technical importance in many industrial processes. For this reason, Surface Science is interdisciplinary by its very nature, and as such an important intermediary between fundamental and applied research.

Book Description
Volume 32 of Group III is a supplement to volume III/19 and deals with the magnetic properties of metals, alloys and metallic compounds which contain at least one transition element. The present subvolume III/32C provides comprehensive and evaluated data on magnetic properties of alloys and compounds of d-elements with main group elements published mainly in the previous decade.
