Beyond Mexico
Author: Jean Daudelin
Publisher: McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP
ISBN: 077357395X
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 269
Book Description
As a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement Canada's relations with Mexico and Latin America have reached a turning point both politically and economically. Beyond Mexico is a timely assessment of the dynamic state and the prospects of Canada's relations with Latin America. Every day, trade developments under nafta are redefining political, economic and social connections between Canada, Mexico and the United States. In this well-documented, policy-relevant and eminently accessible study, specialists address the challenges raised by non-governmental organizations, security and human rights issues, inter-municipal exchange programs, Canada's membership in the Organization of American States, and by successive crises in Haiti. This collection looks beyond NAFTA to explore the range and realities of Canada's involvement in the entire hemisphere.

The Trilateral Commission and Global Governance
Author: Dino Knudsen
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1317392078
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 255
Book Description
This book provides the first analysis of the Trilateral Commission and its role in global governance and contemporary diplomacy. In 1973, David Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzezinski founded the Trilateral Commission. Involving highly influential people from business and politics in the US, Western Europe, and Japan, the Commission was soon preceived as constituting an embryonic or even shadow world government. As the first researcher to have accessed the Commission’s archives, the author argues that this study demonstrates that global governance and international diplomacy should be considered a product of overlapping elite networks that merge informal and formal spheres across national borders. This work has three immediate aims: to trace the background, origins, purposes, characteristics, and modus operandi of the Commission; to investigate the elite aspect of the Commission and how this related to democracy; and to demonstrate how the Commission contributed to diplomatic practices and policy-formulation at national and international levels. The overall purpose of this book is to evaluate the significance of the Trilateral Commission, with particular focus on the implications of its activities on the way we understand decision-making processes and diplomacy in modern, democratic societies. This book will be of much interest to students of the Cold War, US foreign policy, diplomacy studies, and IR in general

Beyond Esoteric
Author: Brad Olsen
Publisher: CCC Publishing
ISBN: 1888729759
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 482
Book Description
Nothing in this world works the way you think it does; there is always more to the story. Be aware that there is a war for your mind and your soul. Corporations have taken over governments in a new form of Fascism that now incorporates high technology and artificial intelligence. The survival of the human race may depend on breaking the Embargo of truth, and collectively developing an ÜberMind. But truth always resonates! Beyond Esoteric takes off the kids gloves, and exposes the control grid extending its tentacles across the planet. The word occult means nothing more than to study the realm of the hidden. So much of real knowledge and wisdom is disguised because the people who run the planet feel that true information of how the world works and how to manifest reality is something you do not need to know. Everything we think we know about the world and the universe in which we live, whatever we have been led to believe concerning the course of human history, could very well be completely wrong, distorted and misinformed. The 19th century teachers of the occult could never have imagined The Ultimate Journey of the 21st century we now face, one that extends far Beyond Esoteric.
