Book Description
As Christians, we must not be participants to a political party that does not intend to serve its people but to rule over them. William Nieves makes the case that if you are calling yourself a Democrat, then you are assisting the enemy in deceiving. It is that simple. He explores how Democrats twist the truth by attacking President Donald J. Trump. Meanwhile, a complicit media uses its air time to poison the American people with hate and false information. President Trump has correctly labeled these news organizations as the “enemy of the people” and “fake news.” If we allow their hate to influence our thoughts, we cannot make fair judgements and will be on a wrong path. The fact that the majority of news outlets engage in deception is a strong indicator of the End of Days. The enemy knows his time is short and is working feverishly through the Democratic Party and the mainstream media to destroy our God-fearing nation. Christians Be Warned!

Book Description
An aspiring photographer is about to get the chance of a lifetime in New York-and face a forbidden love that just might be her downfall. Kristin Burns has lived her life by the philosophy "Don't think, just shoot"-pictures, that is. Struggling to make ends meet, she works full-time as a nanny for the fabulously wealthy Turnbull family, looking after their two wonderful children and waiting for her glamorous life as a New York photographer to begin. When her photographs are considered by an elite Manhattan art gallery, it seems she might finally get the chance to start her career. But Kristin has a major distraction: forbidden love. The man of her dreams is almost hers for keeps. Breathless with an inexhaustible passion and the excitement of being within reach of her goals, Kristen ignores all signs of catastrophe brewing. Fear exists for a reason. And Kristin can only dismiss the warnings for so long. Searching desperately for the truth through the lens of her camera, she can only hope that it's not too late. This novel of psychological suspense is a stunning achievement for thriller master James Patterson, "one of the bestselling writers in history" (New York Sun).

Book Description
Why don't we always obey warnings? In discussing a wide range of issues in behavioural research of warnings, this book takes the view that a warning is but one piece of information which we take into account in deciding what - or what not - to do. This view leads the authors to the positions that warnings should be matched in their urgency to the urgency of the situation they warn about. Auditory, visual, written and symbolic warnings are discussed in detail.

Book Description
In 1955 the small town of Udall, Kansas, was home to oil field workers, homemakers, and teenagers looking ahead to their futures. But on the night of May 25, an F5 tornado struck their town without warning. In three minutes the tornado destroyed most of the buildings, including the new high school. It toppled the water tower. It lifted a pickup truck, stripped off its cab, and hung the frame in a tree. By the time the tornado moved on, it had killed 82 people and injured 270 others, more than half the town's population of roughly 600 people. It remains the deadliest tornado in the history of Kansas. Jim Minick's nonfiction account, Without Warning, tells the human story of this disaster, moment by moment, from the perspectives of those who survived. His spellbinding narrative connects this history to our world today. Minick demonstrates that even if we have never experienced a tornado, we are still a people shaped and defined by weather and the events that unfold in our changing climate. Through the tragedy and hope found in this story of destruction, Without Warning tells a larger story of community, survival, and how we might find our way through the challenges of the future.

Book Description
Presenting the results of an ambitious research activity this book intends to understand why Early Warning Systems (EWSs) fail. However, from the beginning, the objective turned out to be challenging; first, because, so far, there is not a shared understanding of what an EWS is (among both researchers and practitioners communities); second, as a consequence, because it is equally unclear when an EWS can be considered successful or not. Due to this, the research needed first to face some “open questions” instead of going straight to the point under investigation. Specifically, it was first necessary to define EWS, identify its components and functions, peculiarities, and weak points. Only at that point, a first attempt to evaluate EWS performance was possible. Flood Early Warning Systems Performance is organised according to the conceptual steps required by the research. In part I the “open questions” about the definition and the role of EWSs are handled, the aim being the identification of how to evaluate their effectiveness/performance. Part II focuses on the real aim of the research, providing concepts and tools to assess EWS performance; suggested tools are also implemented in a case study to describe how they can be applied in practice. Focusing specifically on the topic of flood risk in mountainous regions, the book can be viewed as a sort of manual for EWS designers, managers, and users. It is organised into different independent sections which will appeal both to experts as well as those with an interest in the subject. Most of results can also be exported to other hazards.
