Book Description
The Bass Family Record is an ongoing genealogical research project aimed at collecting and correcting family records of the Bass family. Many people have contributed to this effort over the years in various forms. This book has been compiled and marketed in an effort to get this history into the hands of more family members. With the hope of generating additional interest in the research and preservation of these records. This, 370 page volume, reports the details of 2870 individuals, from 1785 - 2017.The primary focus of the research so far has been on the descendants of Wilson Bass, born in North Carolina about 1785. He moved to Covington County near Andalusia Alabama about 1820 and purchased land south of the town near what is now the Carolina Community. Many of his descendants still live in the area to this day. There are also a good number nearby in the surrounding areas of south Alabama and northwest Florida. The title Bass Family Record is a tribute to one of the first significant efforts based on this line of the Basses. Genola Bass Spence and Glynda Wilkinson Cupp assembled the foundation of this record, back in 1968. An update of that record was published in July of 2000. Both documents were titled Bass Family Record, and have been of tremendous value and help in producing this volume.Hopefully, you will enjoy this book and enjoy having it.

Book Description
Excerpt from Bass, Lightfoot and Allied Families: Genealogical and Biographical The family of interest settled in Virginia and in Carolina at an early date, and we also find members of this family in New England. The first of the name in America was Samuel Bass, who settled in Massachusetts in 1630; he had a son, John Bass, who married Ruth Alden, daughter of John and Priscilla (mullins) Alden, a fact which gives the members of that branch of the family eligibility for membership in the Society of Mayflower Descendants.
