For nearly fifty years the hard-hitting, mobile Browning Automatic Rifle, or BAR, served in US infantry units as a light squad automatic “base of fire” weapon, providing quick bursts of concentrated fire. In most cases, you will find references to the weapon's history, their service period and specifications, as well as other interesting information that I have collected over the years.
