Book Description
Learn to communicate effectively--and painlessly--with this guided workbook's 100+ writing prompts and activities. The pandemic took its toll on many aspects of our lives: our desire to go outside, our ability to get properly dressed, and our capacity for face-to-face communication. But while things are mostly back to normal, there is now a pandemic of loneliness afflicting adults. Sometimes seen as trite or trivial, uncomfortable or even embarrassing, small talk--or the polite conversation about unimportant or uncontroversial topics--is actually a necessary skill for any adult. Small talk not only helps you connect to other people, but in doing so, it helps to build confidence in social situations, which in turn enhances health, lifts mood and energy, and improves overall well-being. In The Art of Small Talk, you will work through a series of exercises, activities, and writing prompts to help you better engage with other people. Topics cover: The Four Steps of Small Talk "Micro-interactions," such as a giving or receiving a compliment or having a quick chat in the elevator How to widen the range of people you interact with, such as the barista, an Uber driver, or that person in accounting How to overcome feelings that others won't be interested in what you have to say How to ask questions of others Prompts and verbal cues for starting (and ending) a conversation A unique chapter about written communication, which is its own form of small talk and so much more! Activities, challenges, and assignments include things like going on a "Small Talk Scavenger Hunt"--the idea being that as you find, approach, and talk to strangers, you'll grow more optimistic and confident in your conversational skills--plus many more fun things that will make you the talk of the town. With loneliness at epidemic proportions, people are yearning more than ever to connect. All it takes is a little bit of small talk to make that first connection--and The Art of Small Talk is the light-hearted, trusted companion you need. With so much of our lives and contact going digital, the Guided Workbooks offer an intimate way to nurture your connection with yourself and the people around you. An entertaining way to get off your screen, the pages in these guided prompt books are great for writers and first-timers alike. Each workbook offers content around a different, compelling theme, filled with thoughtful questions, inspiration for composition, and interactive prompts to learn about yourself and the world around you. Beautifully designed on high-quality paper stock and full of mindful prompts, channel your inspiration as you put pen to paper to learn more about what inspires you. Other books in the series include: Overcome Your Anxiety, The Loneliness Problem, Finding Your Authentic Self, The Adulting Workbook, Stop Overthinking, 5-Minute Productivity Workbook, 3-Minute Positivity Workbook, 52 Weeks to Better Mental Health, The Anti-Anxiety Journal, Manifest Your Intentions, 369 Laws of Attraction Guided Workbook, Tarot: A Guided Workbook to Unlock and Explore Your Magickal Intuition, Astrology: A Guided Workbook to Understand and Explore the Wisdom of the Universe, and Finding Your Balance: A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Workbook.

Also included are questions looking for the new single-season marks for quarterback passer rating, passing yards, touchdown throws and catches, receptions, points scored and all-purpose yardage. Numbers are as volatile as they have ever been in pro football. Luckily, this book technology is synchronised to upgrade in the occurrence of such digital anomalies. The result is an inclusive, innovative take on football trivia that is up-to-date. Special player profiles highlight selected NFL teams best offensive and defensive players. Super Bowl-era fans will have fun resourcing their knowledge from Max McGee to Chris Reis in new, creative ways. And for the Bronko Nagurski/Red Badgro crowd, Ask Your Uncle Football Trivia has scores of early-era anecdotes and images.

Book Description
Choo Seng Quee is arguably Singapore's greatest football coach. He brought Singapore football to great heights, especially during the 1970s. This larger-than-life footballing icon had already made a name for himself as a no-nonsense defender during the 1930s helping Singapore win the Malaya Cup on two occasions.World War II disrupted his promising playing career, and after the war, he switched to coaching. In a coaching career spanning almost 30 years, he had several spells as coach of the Singapore national team (in addition to also coaching the Malaysian and Indonesian teams). Though his coaching methods were 'old school', based on hard work and discipline, success followed him wherever he went. His brash manner, unfortunately, did not endear well with the powers who ran the Singapore Amateur Football Association (SAFA), a predecessor of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). This led him being thrown into football wilderness on several occasions. But that did not stop him from progressing in his coaching career. The football administrators from Malaysia and Indonesia took advantage of these moments of 'unemployment' by offering him financially attractive contracts to coach their respective teams, leading to years of success while Choo Seng Quee was at the helm. This is the incredible story of this legend known to many as simply 'Uncle Choo' who instilled a sense of patriotism in his players. To him, wearing the Singapore jersey was a badge of honour.
