El Bordado Pictórico es para mí el medio, la técnica y el instrumento por donde he destilado y destilo mi alma, hacia la fusión con el Todo.» Concepción García Colorado es la artífice de la técnica del bordado pictórico aplicada a obras de arte sacro. Su trabajo despertó el interés del mismísimo pontífice Juan Pablo II en los años noventa, y actualmente se expone en varias estancias del Vaticano y El Escorial. En esta obra narra por primera vez el camino que ha recorrido para dar a conocer sus cuadros y llegar a formar parte de la Real Academia de Doctores de España. También aporta datos artísticos sobre su técnica y reflexiona sobre algunos de los aspectos más candentes de nuestra actualidad. Concepción García Colorado es innovadora en la técnica plástica del bordado pictórico. Nacida en Almagro, en 1958, se doctora en Historia del Arte por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en 1987 y es nombrada Académica Correspondiente de la RADE en 1993. Además, es el miembro 255 de la Cofradía Internacional de Investigadores de Toledo, ha trabajado como profesora de EMedias y como funcionaria. Con 31 años de experiencia como docente ha ejercido en Toledo, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga y Ciudad Real. Máster en Patrimonio Cultural de la Iglesia, título que obtuvo en la Universidad de Granada, en la Facultad de Teología desde el 2004 hasta el 2007. Actualmente es conferenciante, investigadora y artista plástica. Colabora con el Diccionario Bibliográfico de la Real Academia de la Historia sobre el tema de Bordadores Ilustres. Ha escrito más de 45 artículos y ha presentado distintas comunicaciones y conferencias en distintos congresos de Educación, Historia y Arte. Ha realizado más de 150 obras plásticas de arte sacro e histórico, una de ellas se encuentran en el Vaticano, dos en El Escorial y otras en diversas iglesias y conventos españoles.
