Book Description
As part of a general program in the Savanna Army Depot Activity's historic preservation planning, this report has been prepared documenting both the known and potential archeological resources which exist within the facility boundaries. Five prehistoric sites are known and reported, and 43 potential historic sites have been identified. No systematic survey has been conducted on the facility. In compliance with draft Army regulations AR 420, it is recommended that preliminary archival and field research be initiated for the historic sites which possess physical integrity, and that surveys be conducted on those areas not currently impacted by construction. Cultural resources should be located, recorded, evaluated, and assessment of eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places be made for appropriate and significant sites. Archeological invention data, together with historic architectural information, would then serve to help develop a facility historic preservation plan. (Author).

Book Description
This archeological overview and management plan provides a tool which can be used by DARCOM and decision-makers at Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) to assist in complying with regulations and procedures relating to historic preservation Technical Manual, Technical Note, Resources Management, Army Regulation. This document summarizes data relating to the area's environmental history; cultural chronology; historic and modern ground disturbances; previous archeological surveys; presently identified archeological resources; known artifact, ecofact, and/or documentary collections relating to archeological resources; potentially identifiable but not presently recorded archeological resources; significant archeological resources; locational data of known archeological resources; and locational data of potential archeological resources. Archeological field surveys on the LEAD facility recorded three prehistoric archeological sites and three historic period archeological sites. Documentary resources suggest that there are at least 345 potential historic period archeological sites. While large portions of the facility have been disturbed by development activities, there are intermittent areas which have not been disturbed or which have been disturbed only minimally. These areas may potentially yield significant archeological cultural resources which have not yet been recorded. The physical integrity of the potential site is unknown.

Book Description
The Anniston Army Depot, located in east central Alabama, is comprised of 15,214 acres. The Depot is a government-owned operation under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Depot System Command (DESCOM, a DARCOM sub-command). The facility occupies well drained upland terrain composed of rolling land, low hills, and valleys within the Ridge and Valley province of the Appalachian Highlands. A review of the known and potential archeological resources of the Depot indicates that there is little likelihood that significant prehistoric or historic materials will be found in the higher elevations and within the strongly acid soils, but may be associated with some of the lower river terraces. There have been no previous archeological surveys on the facility. It is recommended that more intensive archival and archeological field inventory be completed for the facility, for the development of any needed historic preservation plan, or any ground-disturbing project-specific compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act and related statutes. Originator-supplied keywords include: Archeological management, Army installation management, and Environmental assessment.

Book Description
The Tooele Army Depot (TAD) located in Tooele County, Utah, is an installation of the U.S. Army's Materiel Development and Readiness Command (DARCOM). As stewards of approximately 44,096 acres (17, 846 hectares) at TAD the U.S. Army has responsibility for the Management of any cultural resources located there. Three sites are known to exist on TAD, but local geomorphology and cultural history suggest that additional cultural resources are likely to be found in undisturbed portions of the TAD. Those sites possessing physical integrity will have high research value. In compliance with Draft Army Regulation (AR 420. XX) and in consideration of future general disturbance activities, the following recommendations are made: (1) conduct a field survey of all undisturbed areas on the installation to identify unknown cultural resource locations, (2) establish monitoring program in those areas on the installation where construction and subsurface disturbances are planned, (3) evaluate and nominate known cultural properties for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). (4) take action to preserve properties eligible for inclusion in the NRHP. These recommendations, if implemented, together with historic architectural information would then serve as the basis for developing an installation Historic Preservation Plan.
