Book Description
Printed by Edmund Calamy, and with a hearty recommendation from Simeon Ashe, this powerful work by John Brinsley explains 2 Timothy 3:2, “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers...” He explains that in his day (and now in ours) there were those who "sigh and cry" for many abominable blasphemies which are expressed and belched out into the face of God's Divine Majesty. His purpose is to demonstrate and create a Scriptural antidote to the many "contagions" that roam the corridors of the church, and blaspheme Jesus Christ and his people. In this masterful treatise he covers the biblical definitions of blasphemy, how God is personally blasphemed, what are heretics and false professors, gives a number of applications to the text, and demonstrates how Christians may avoid blaspheming God. You may think, "I don't do that so I don't need this work," but that would be presumptuous. Every Christian, every day, is faced with various instances of bringing reproach to Christ and his word. This work is an antidote to those temptations. This is not a scan or facsimile, has been updated in modern English for easy reading and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.

Book Description
This book offers an alternative interpretation of pre-Civil War England, challenging the standard narrative that English presbyterianism was successfully extinguished from the late sixteenth century until its prominent public resurgence during the English Civil War. From their emergence in the 1570s, English presbyterians posed a threat to the Church of England, and, in 1592, the English crown arrested the leaders of the presbyterian movement. Ha shows that, during the ensuing half century of apparent silence, English presbyterians remained continually active. They made a concerted effort, for example, to build an alliance with common lawyers against episcopal authority. Yet they also sought to prove the compatibility of their church government with royal supremacy. They agitated for further reformation of the Church of England, but by the early seventeenth century they had contributed to the birth of 'independency' and to puritan appeals to neo-Roman views of liberty.

Book Description
An easy to read, but totally devastating attack against the heresy of Arminianism. There was a day when Christians knew the Scriptures well enough that the error of Arminianism was recognized for what it was-a heresy, another gospel-that is no gospel at all. Today, it is not uncommon in churches that are ostensibly Bible-believing and Bible-studying congregations to find sitting in the pews, beside one another, those that confess a biblical belief in God's sovereignty and those that self-identify as Arminians. On top of that there are countless less-knowledgable professors that know nothing of the label and doctrines of Arminianism but nonetheless hold the same man-centered and decisionalistic false belief of salvation. In this work of Ness, these unbiblical concepts are laid bare and exposed for the grave errors that they are. Recommended reading by John Owen, John Gill, and Augustus Toplady.
