The "Introduction to Altaic Linguistics" is designed as a manual for university students. The first part gives a survey of the Altaic languages, i.e., Mongolian, Manchu-Tungus, Chuvash-Turkic and Korean, and a classification of the Altaic languages and classifications of languages within each family.
