This book focuses on the latest developments in psychology research. Chapter One aims at the presentation of specific determinants for indirect type aggressive behaviour in adolescence. Chapter Two studies child-to-parent violence (CPV). Chapter Three briefly summarizes the long-standing literature on stereotypes about gender and emotion and how gender role socialization reinforces these stereotypes before highlighting more recent empirical evidence that refutes at least some of these commonly held beliefs. Chapter Four assesses personality traits and psychiatric indicators in active alcohol-dependent subjects, and also determines the possible associations between clinical conditions alcohol use pattern and time. Chapter Five focuses on insomnia disorder. Chapter Six highlights and compares evolving views concerning morality at different points in time and in different cultural contexts, in addition to reviewing the existing commonly-held opinions regarding the development and purpose of morals within human society. Chapter Seven presents a systematic review and meta-analysis of controlled trials assessing the efficacy of Group Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (GCBT) for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Chapter Eight discusses novel pharmacological strategies for the treatment of depression. Chapter Nine provides new insights for the pharmacological treatment of Alzheimer Disease. Chapter Ten discusses novel perspectives for the pharmacological treatment of Parkinson Disease.

Morality in context is a timely topic. A debate between philosophers and social scientists is a good way to approach it. Why is there such a booming interest in morality and why does it focus on context? One starting point is the change in the sociostructural and sociocultural conditions of modern societies. This involves change in the empirical conditions of moral action and in the social demand on morality. As these changes are accounted for and analyzed in the social sciences, new perspectives emerge that give rise to new ways of framing issues and problems. These problems are best addressed by way of cooperation between philosophers and social scientists. As Habermas (1990) has pointed out in a much cited paper, philosophers depend on social science to fill in the data they require to answer the questions raised by philosophy in its "placeholder" function. The reverse also holds true: Social science needs the conceptual clarifications that philosophy can provide. With respect to morality, such mutual interchanges are of particular importance the contributions to this book show convincingly.

Traffic psychology is a rapidly expanding and broad field within applied psychology with a considerable volume of research activities and a growing network of academic strands of enquiry. The discipline primarily focuses on the behaviour of road users and the psychological processes underlying these behaviours, looking at issues such as cognition, distraction, fatigue, personality and social aspects, often delivering practical applications and educational interventions. Traffic psychology has been the focus of research for almost as long as the motor car has been in existence and was first recognised as a discipline in 1990 when the International Association of Applied Psychology formed Division 13: Traffic and Transportation Psychology. The benefits of understanding traffic psychology are being increasingly recognised by a whole host of organisations keen to improve road safety or minimise health and safety risks when travelling in vehicles. The objective of this volume is to describe and discuss recent advances in the study of traffic psychology, with a major focus on how the field contributes to the understanding of at-risk road-user behaviour.
