Book Description
In the fourth installment of USA Today bestselling author Bree Wolf's emotionally charged 'Love's Second Chance Series', Connor must find a way to break through Henrietta's defenses...before the demons of her childhood separate them for good. He forced her hand. Now, she will deny him her heart. After what her father did to her mother, HENRIETTA TURNER's worst fears are to be realised when her uncle decides to marry her off to a Scot. Gentleman or not, Henrietta knows that at his core he is still a barbarian. What will she suffer at the hands of this savage? CONNOR BRUNWOOD, MARQUIS OF RODRIDGE, can't believe he fell head over heels in love with this thin, pale twig of a girl. However, the moment he saw her, he knew he had to make her his wife. If only she didn't hate the very sight of him! However, when his life is suddenly in danger, an assassin lying in wait, everything they thought they knew is put to the test. Will Henrietta betray her husband or stand by his side? Will she take the opportunity to rid herself of him forever? Or will she risk everything to save his life...as well as her heart? *Although certain characters appear in multiple books, 'Abandoned & Protected - The Marquis' Tenacious Wife' can be read as a stand-alone. However, in order to avoid spoiler, I'd advise against reading them out of order. NOTE: Abandoned & Protected follows the love story of Henrietta and Connor until their happily-ever-after. However, there is a secondary story line, which continues in Betrayed & Blessed when Tristan, Henrietta's brother, and Beth fight for their own happily-ever-after as each couple deserves their own full-length story. Love's Second Chance Series #1 Forgotten & Remembered - The Duke's Late Wife (Rosabel & Graham)#2 Cursed & Cherished - The Duke's Wilful Wife (Anna & Edmond)#3 Despised & Desired - The Marquess' Passionate Wife (Ellie & Frederick)#4 Abandoned & Protected - The Marquis' Tenacious Wife (Henrietta & Connor)#5 Ruined & Redeemed - The Earl's Fallen Wife (Charlotte & Sebastian)#6 Betrayed & Blessed - The Viscount's Shrewd Wife (Beth & Tristan)More to follow:#7 Deceived & Honoured - The Baron's Vexing Wife (Madeline & Derek) A Forbidden Love Novella Series #1 The Wrong Brother#2 A Brilliant Rose#3 The Forgotten Wife#4 An Unwelcome Proposal#5 Rules to Be BrokenMore to follow:#6 Hearts to Be Mended

Book Description
This book provides essential information and recent findings on hydro-environmental issues in the Lower Danube River, particularly its hydrological and hydromorphological processes; physico-chemical features; climate and water-related hazards; and not only the biodiversity and quality but also the sustainable management and governance of its hydro-environment. Accordingly, it presents a broad range of scientific information on the lower sector of the second-longest river in Europe, which holds major economic importance and has been severely impacted by human pressures, especially since the second part of the last century. The engineering works (e.g. dams, reservoirs, levees, channelization, etc.) on the Danube and its tributaries, despite their benefits to society, have altered its flow and significantly reduced its sediment load, with consequences for hydromorphological processes and aquatic ecosystems. These ecosystems have also been affected by pollution from various sources. To promote sustainable management of the Danube River and its watershed, several strategies and measures have been developed by a number of institutions, from the European level to the national and regional levels (commissions, national authorities, non-governmental organizations, etc.). Compared to the upper and middle sectors of the Danube, the lower sector has received less attention in the international scientific literature in terms of hydro-environmental issues. The book fills this gap and provides current and original insights and findings from recent studies conducted by scientists from three countries drained by the Lower Danube River and its tributaries: Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. This unique book will be of great scientific interest to professional engineers, policy planners and policymakers in the three countries mentioned above, helping them to implement their own sustainable development plans. It also offers a valuable resource for graduate students, researchers and stakeholders.
