Book Description
My name is Margaret Trimm Bachus. For 25 years I worked as a writer, producer and director, creating professional plays for young audiences. Sixteen original productions toured to 3 million children and families throughout the Eastern United States and Canada. In 2007 my sisters and I lost our mother to Alzheimers disease. Helplessly we watched as this Awful disease took her memories, her dignity, and finally her life. To deal with our loss, we explored possibilities through which we could support families and victims of Alzheimers disease. The Sisters Trimm became our working moniker. We continue our involvement in the war against Alzheimers disease, and are especially proud of our Save the Story Creations. This is a creative process in which families or caregivers engage their loved one in simple guided memory conversations as Alzheimers disease wages its battle for control. Specially designed questionnaires, created by us, are returned to us and translated into "story symbols" - charms, jewels tiny collectibles, permanently affixed to a story vessel. The Save the Story vessels are beautiful, tactile pieces of art that aid in storytelling and recall. When it is time to say goodbye, these creations save the life story for generations to come. When I co-wrote a play called Vaudeville Jazz in 1982, I had never heard of Alzheimers disease. I just knew I had a story I wanted to tell. Vaudeville Jazz explored cross-generational love between a grandpa and his granddaughter as the grandpas memory began to fail. The play toured to thousands of children and educators. The Florida Endowment for the Humanities underwrote a statewide tour to Senior Citizen Centers where Vaudeville Jazz was followed by discussion. I could never have imagined how closely this story would parallel my own familys experience 25 years later. Revisiting the Vaudeville Jazz script after we lost our mother, The Sisters Trimm, determined that the story should be re-told in book form so it could be available to children and families everywhere. We renamed the story, A is for Awful, to better reflect the enemy we now know as Alzheimers disease.

Book Description
Deedra Masefield has the reputation of being a tough investigative reporter, though if the truth be known to the public, she's a gal who has suffered rejection and emotional pain, who cries into her pillow in the depths of night, and allows only her tough image to show. In this mystery, Deedra is sent by her newspaper's editor to a small town in northern California to learn why a famous movie actress remains strangely out of touch with friends and Hollywood. Her last known address was a place called Anthea Abbey where her eccentric/inventor husband, Ricardo Embustero, state that "he could invent without disturbing near neighbors, and where Sharlee could have a castle of her own." However, if Sharlee Devon has a castle, it appears that she is captive there. A newspaper delivery boy disappears after reporting the finding of a note thrown out of an upstairs window of the old abbey by Sharlee. There are rumors in town about a ghost-nun and a huge mutant boy, and townsfolk avoid the area. Deedra visits the abbey where she unexpectedly meets, Hannah, a tall person with an elongated nose and a perpetual post-nasal drip. Hannah wears full-length black dresses reminiscent of the nuns of a by-gone age, and gives the impression that she is Ricardo's sister. Deedra's man and colleague, Deke Thomas, arrives to help, then Deedra recalls that he and Sharlee Devon were once lovers. Again she is smote with the fact that Deke is not the marrying kind, and renews her vow to hunt for "Mr. Right." When at last Deedra rescues Sharlee Devon, and earns that front-page story, her pillow is the only witness of her not-so-tough image.

Book Description
Misery loves company and the Magus is miserable. His demise, compromises all those around him or attached to him. He drags them all down by his own death sentence. It’s his alone; yet, but by the sheer weight of his height held in the Order, all below will end beyond mend. His sentence fences in all who stray his way. He makes you sign your soul away. Back in the day, every member of that cult come Order is initiated in almost the same way. Upon completion of the initiation ceremony, the initiate is surprised by the sudden presentation of a black book: crooked like a nook on whoever partook. The hook is something the Magus or the then Master of the Temple manipulatively manifests unbeknownst to the student upon entry. Writ like a permit, a wry way to comply within his watchful eye. The Master of the Temple upon completion, commits you to submit. It's done without the why within a ceremonial circle. The book is opened. The new initiate is sentenced to sign his or her soul to the script. Something surely not one of them would've done had they known beforehand this be the fee. So sneaky and snake like. Each initiate vetted in the most vulnerable venue. Each given their rue by a slew of Satanists. The devil’s due. "A gripping true story of how Justim aka Saytim finds a way in and out of a Satanic cult."

Book Description
A gripping story of grace, faith, and triumph for a woman whose world shattered hours after her husband's suicide. Becky Powell faced the unthinkable on May 16, 2013. Her husband Mark called and said, "I've done something terrible." Within hours, she learned that he had taken his own life and, over a period of several years, millions of dollars from friends and colleagues. Everything she believed to be true, the very fiber of her marriage, was called into question. Within a week, rather than planning carpool runs and volunteer fundraisers, she owed almost one hundred creditors millions of dollars and had her own team of ten lawyers. She was also the subject of open FBI, SEC and DOJ investigations--and faced potential criminal charges. And, although she instantly denounced every cent of Mark's $15M in life insurance and promised to repay every penny taken, her lawyers knew that in reality she faced years of court battles and lawsuits, and possible jail time. Yet from that first horrific moment, God was there. He showed up in His Word, in Becky's friends, in her lawyers and in the generosity of those around her. He worked miracles. CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and others covered the first moment, but what about the last? What about the story in which God gives your next breath because you can't find it on your own? What about the story of a mom and three kids trying to make sense of their pasts, present and future while living under a microscope? Awful Beautiful Life is Becky's journey through the two years surrounding Mark's death and how she overcame. It came down to a loving God who surrounded her, a present and dedicated family, and friends, who made her life, offered her sanctuary and showed up for her and her kids in tangible ways. This is a story of remarkable grit, strength, and what the Body of Christ in action looks like.
