For each list of terms in a foreign language, a correspond ing list is given of the English-language terms in that list with their meanings in the foreign language. Especially in the Spanish list, in some instances explanations rather than equivalents are given, and frequently there is included a reference to the publication in which a particular term was found. The purpose of this glossary is to facilitate the use of child-welfare literature published in this country, particularly by readers in the other American Republics, and the use by readers in this country of material published in the Spanish, Portuguese, and French languages.
