What secrets do 400-year-old bones hold?... In Plymouth, Massachusetts, Home of the Rock, someone is digging up the Pilgrims. There's a rumor that there's more than 41 signers of the Mayflower Compact-but no one knows because the original Compact doesn't exist. Or does it? If someone discovers the secret, they could become rich beyond their dreams and enjoy world-wide fame. * Secret societies that wield far too much power and who will do anything to keep the truth about the Pilgrims buried ... * Murders of innocent people wanting to protect the intentions of the intrepid seekers of religious freedom ... Join unlicensed, unbonded, un-insured private "advisor;' Tony Tempesta, his onagain, off-again permanent lady friend, Susan Phoenix, and his bulwark protector, Mike Kennedy who carries his own secrets as they reach back through history to the year 1620 for clues that go far beyond bringing the murders to justice.

Evangelical Pilgrims from the East
Author: Sunggu Yang
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319415646
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 185
Book Description
In this book Sunggu Yang proposes five socio-ecclesial codes as unique faith fundamentals of Korean American Christianity. Drawing from rigorous research and years of ecclesial experience, Yang names the codes as follows: the Wilderness Pilgrimage code, the Diasporic Mission Code, the Confucian Egalitarian code, the Buddhist Shamanistic code, and the Pentecostal Liberation code. These five codes, he asserts, help Korean Americans sustain their lives, culture, faith, and evangelical mission as aliens or “pilgrims” in the American “wilderness.” Yang outlines how his five proposed codes serve as liberative and prophetic mechanisms of faith through which Korean Americans can contribute to racial harmony and cultural diversity in North America. In this sense, Korean American Christianity—its theology and spirituality—works not only on behalf of Korean Americans, but also for the sake of all Americans. Yang shows how the Korean American pulpit is the locus where these five codes appear most vividly.

Pilgrims
Author: Susan Hardman Moore
Publisher: Yale University Press
ISBN: 9780300117189
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 360
Book Description
This book uncovers what might seem to be a dark side of the American dream: the New World from the viewpoint of those who decided not to stay. At the core of the volume are the life histories of people who left New England during the British Civil Wars and Interregnum, 1640–1660. More than a third of the ministers who had stirred up emigration from England deserted their flocks to return home. The colonists’ stories challenge our perceptions of early settlement and the religious ideal of New England as a "City on a Hill." America was a stage in their journey, not an end in itself. Susan Hardman Moore first explores the motives for migration to New England in the 1630s and the rhetoric that surrounded it. Then, drawing on extensive original research into the lives of hundreds of migrants, she outlines the complex reasons that spurred many to brave the Atlantic again, homeward bound. Her book ends with the fortunes of colonists back home and looks at the impact of their American experience. Of exceptional value to studies of the connections between the Old and New Worlds, Pilgrims contributes to debates about the nature of the New England experiment and its significance for the tumults of revolutionary England.
